love is for the birds

"Against the light of that happiness, no matter what age she attained — seventeen, twenty — her present image would always transpire through her metamorphoses, nourishing their translucent strata from its internal fountainhead."Vladimir Nabokov, Metamorphosis

So today’s wash day for my hair. I try and avoid washing the whole thing as best I can for as long as I can. My hair is naturally fairly dry and my scalp doesn’t produce much oil despite my best efforts. So I can go about a week without washing before it gets gross. I have a heavy fringe so my bangs need to be washed about every other day. I love wash day, my hair feels so cool and light as a feather. <3 Anyway, I’m just about finished up with my Moroccan oil. I’m happily making the switch to organic, ecologically and ethically sourced coconut oil. I oil my hair heavily in the shower and let it sit before I wash it with my SLS-free shampoo. I find that works better for my hair then straight shampooing and my scalp gets a good conditioning too. ;DThis coconut oil is sooo perfect. It smells amazing and turns out it makes delicious vegan muffins. < 3
